A Comprehensive Systematic Review of CSF analysis that defines Neurological Manifestations of COVID-19

BackgroundLimited literature exists on Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) findings in COVID-19 patients with neurological symptoms. In this review, we conducted a descriptive analysis of CSF to understand prognosis and explore therapeutic options.MethodsWe searched PubMed, Google Scholar, Scopus databases using the keywords “SARS-CoV-2 cerebrospinal fluid” CNS Complications”" for reports related manifestations. Descriptive analyses were observe protein cell counts based age, gender, severity, fatality COVID-19, whether central (CNS) or peripheral nervous system (PNS) was associated.ResultsA total 113 identified from 67 studies. Of these, 7 (6.2%) fatal cases 35 (31%) considered severe cases. elevated 100% (7/7) an average 61.28 mg/dl 65.0% (52/80) non-fatal 56.73 mg/dl. levels 74.5% (38/51) non-severe 68.6% (24/35) those infection. count increased 43% cases, 25.7% 29.4% cases.ConclusionOur showed that most common situation infection is with, very occasionally, mild lymphocyte predominant pleocytosis. Further studies elucidate pathophysiology complications are recommended.
